When The Gods Fell

By Richard Paolinelli

What if the gods of ancient mythology were real? What if they weren't gods at all—but an advanced race from another world? And what if their final war was destined to be fought on Earth?

In 2041, humanity finally reaches Mars. But the first manned expedition to the Red Planet discovers something far more extraordinary than anyone could have imagined: a mysterious woman named Oracle Veritas, who has waited more than 65 million years to tell humanity the truth about its origins.

Long before it became the barren world we know today, Mars was a thriving planet called Olympus, home to an advanced civilization of immortals. Its rulers were the beings humanity would eventually worship as gods: Zeus, Odin, Ra, Yahweh, Lucifer, and others.

But Olympus was no paradise. Ambition, betrayal, political intrigue, and an insatiable hunger for power threaten to plunge the planet into a devastating civil war. As rival factions maneuver to seize control of the throne, alliances crumble, loyalties are tested, and the fate of an entire world hangs in the balance.

Faced with the extinction of all life on Olympus, Zeus must make an unthinkable decision. His final order will change the destiny of countless worlds—and set in motion a conflict whose ultimate battlefield will be Earth itself.

Richard Paolinelli delivers an imaginative and gripping blend of science fiction, ancient mythology, alternate history, and epic adventure. When The Gods Fell challenges everything you thought you knew about humanity's origins and the legends that shaped our civilization.

The gods had their war. Now humanity must face the consequences. Discover the truth in WHEN THE GODS FELL!

REVIEW

WHERE TO BUY IT

"This was hands-down awesome. This is one part 2001, one part Dan Simmons, and one part Babylon 5, with a hint of Mass Effect for seasoning. The short version? The concepts are brilliant The execution is spot on. There is about 10-15% of the book that needed a little bit of a trim, but aside from that? Wonderful."
